By creating an account, registering as a Partner, or using TopedoX, you acknowledge and accept the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

3. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use TopedoX, we may collect the following information:
Name and surname, username, email address, mobile number, date of birth, and password credentials.
Profile photograph, biography, professional information, skills, interests, CV information, and portfolio details.
Where permission is granted, TopedoX may access contact lists, referral information, and connection suggestions. You may revoke contact permissions through your device settings.
With your permission, we collect location data to display nearby businesses, recommend nearby events, improve search results, and enhance user experience.
Device type, operating system, device identifiers, IP address, application performance information, and crash reports.
Where applicable: Business name, trading name, registration number, VAT number, tax information, industry classification, business addresses, and contact information.
Information relating to owners, directors, administrators, and authorised representatives including names, emails, mobile numbers, and verification documents.
Where required: Banking details, account holder information, payment/payout information, and billing details. Processed solely for operational, payment, and compliance purposes.
Identity documents, proof of address, company registration certificates, VAT certificates, tax compliance documents, professional licences, and event permits to maintain platform integrity.
4. How We Use Your Information
We process your information under a lawful basis to:
- Create and manage accounts, verify identities and business legitimacy.
- Provide platform functionality and deliver messaging services.
- Recommend businesses and events, manage bookings, and facilitate transactions.
- Process payments/payouts, operate Ecommerce services, and support Recruitment.
- Deliver Advertising services, improve UI/UX, prevent fraud, and provide customer support.
- Comply with legal obligations.
5. Messaging & Communications
TopedoX provides features including direct messaging, notifications, event, business, and support communications. We may also communicate regarding account management, security updates, and compliance requirements.
Note: TopedoX does not sell private message content. Communications are processed strictly to deliver services, detect abuse, and maintain security.
6. Events & Bookings
Where events functionality is used, we process event registrations, ticket details, booking/attendance records, QR code validation data, and analytics.
Partners receive attendee information necessary to administer events and agree to use this information solely for legitimate, event-related purposes.
7. Marketplace & Ecommerce
For Marketplace or Ecommerce features, we collect product orders, delivery info, purchase history, refund requests, and customer reviews. Partners remain responsible for handling customer information lawfully.
Payment information is processed through approved third-party providers. TopedoX does not store full payment card information unless legally authorised.
8. Recruitment & Professional Networking
If using recruitment features, we collect CVs, employment history, qualifications, certifications, and portfolios. This data is made available to recruiters or employers based on your choices. Partners agree to process candidate data solely for employment purposes.
9. Lead Retrieval & Customer Information
Partners may receive customer information via event registrations, business enquiries, or store transactions. Partners explicitly agree to:
- Protect customer information.
- Not sell or misuse customer information.
- Comply with all applicable privacy laws.
10. Advertising, Analytics & Cookies
We utilize Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Huawei Analytics, and custom tools along with cookies and session identifiers to improve platform performance.
Partners may get access to aggregated or anonymized metrics such as profile views, ad performance, event engagement, and ticket sales stats.
11. Who We Share Information With
We share data with cloud hosting providers, analytics platforms, payment processors, verification entities, and legal authorities where required.
Information is safely shared between Buyers/Sellers, Job Seekers/Employers, and Attendees/Organisers only as necessary to execute the requested service.
12. International Data Transfers
Information may be processed, stored, or transferred outside South Africa via cloud infrastructure or international service vendors. TopedoX takes all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
13. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as necessary to provide services, meet legal mandates, resolve disputes, or prevent fraud. Certain records may be retained after account closure if required by law.
14. Security
TopedoX implements robust measures including access controls, multi-factor authentication, fraud monitoring tools, encryption technologies, and security reviews. Please note that no online platform can guarantee absolute security.
15. Privacy Rights
Subject to local laws, you have the right to access personal information, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, object to specific processing, or withdraw consent. Requests can be routed directly to our Information Officer.
16. Partner Responsibilities
Partners must comply fully with POPIA, protect all shared consumer/candidate/attendee data, maintain tight security, and report any privacy incidents. Non-compliance may result in immediate suspension or account termination.
17. Children & Parental Consent
Users under the age of 18 may use TopedoX only where explicit parental or legal guardian consent has been obtained. Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising the platform usage.
18. Regulatory Compliance
TopedoX strictly aligns operations with:
- Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA)
- Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA)
- Consumer Protection Act (CPA)
- Applicable international privacy standards
